About General Directorate of State Aids
The duties assigned to the General Directorate of State Aids with the related legislation are as follows: 
  • To carry out the secretariat services of State Aids Monitoring and Supervision Board, 
  • To keep up with the related European Union legislation and other relevant international regulations, 
  • To make research and studies to determine the principles and rules of state aid, 
  • To prepare the concerning legislation to be adopted by the Board, to monitor and evaluate state aids and present them to the surveillance of the Board, 
  • To conduct and monitor the proceedings as regards to the Board decisions relating to suspension and recovery of state aids and other decisions of the Board along with initial evaluation and investigation procedures based on decisions of the Board, 
  • To request all kinds of documents and information concerning state aids from the public institutions and organizations and real and legal persons directly, 
  • To carry out preparation of annual report based on information received from the aid granting authorities and present it to the Board, 
  • Upon adoption by the Board to convey annual Report to European Commission and other authorities to be required, 
  • To participate in communications and negotiations with international organizations and other countries, 
  • To submit views in respect of organizational and legal arrangements, 
  • To obtain all kinds of documents and information for purpose of following-up state aids and supports implemented for the sectors of economy which do not fall into the scope of this law from the public institutions and organizations and real and legal persons, 
  • To fulfill other duties to be assigned by the Undersecretariat.
